About

Bright blue gestural abstract painting

Carol Barber’s works mix painting, drawing and collage on paper and canvas.

My work is about process and discovery. At the beginning of 2020 I declared that it would be my year to explore gesture. Little did I know what a year it would be! And how art would act as a diary to release a wide range of emotions both high and low. It is also the year in which I turned 50 and I wanted art to be a way to learn to live each day to the fullest. And it has been a good teacher; giving me play, joy, connection and solace.
