My First Art Residency, thanks to VCCA

VCCA Residency

So happy to inform you that I had my first art residency! Virginia Center for the Creative Arts was a dream I didn’t know I was supposed to have. The setting was gorgeous, the people were so friendly, and the food was delicious. I met writers, visual artists, and composers from all over the United States and Germany. It truly felt like a dream to be on the mountain top, walking over to a ‘castle’ of creativity. Having ample space and time allowed my work to grow in new ways. Some projects succeeded, while others didn’t, but even with only six days, my growth accelerated by months. I am so thankful for this experience—it’s a reason in itself to keep working on my art. I hope to share the work I create there with you in the coming months.
