New Large Textural Paintings

 TEXTURE PAINTINGS on CANVAS

I’m thrilled to introduce you to my new paintings, with the biggest being 40″ x 50″. Because they focus on texture and marks more than color layering, these new large paintings are a departure from what I have been creating recently. This texture enables exploring layering and marks in a new way. In between the texture layers of paint, I bury colors and marks, to then uncover them later in the process—it feels like a treasure hunt! Consequently, through this process, each piece becomes a unique artifact that I can share with all of you. I can’t wait to hear what you think about these new works!

TIPS for COLLECTORS

I am open to work with you on custom-commissioned pieces for your home or space. As we start the process, It is helpful to know if your space requires a cool palette with pure whites and fresh colors such as those that are influenced by the beach or Spring flowers. However, if your dwelling is more of a warm palette, then the painting would include creamy whites, warm wood tones, and the colors of nature such as in a desert sunset. That being said, many of my paintings have both warm and cool colors and look at home in multiple settings.

A RECENT COMMISSION

An example of a painting looking good in multiple settings would be a recent collector who wanted strong blues and primary colors in their art. Initially they placed this art on a white wall but they recently painted the wall a dark green, and the paintings still look awesome. Because in the painting small areas of blue were mixed with gold paint to make green! Also, they love the pop of the white mats against the dark wall. Many collectors I have worked with enjoy pure saturated colors, and I am here for it!
